A number of underdeveloping countries newly has started the awareness towards gifted
education topic. Underdeveloped countries haven’t got educational practice and literature which
developed countries possess. This manner brings about that some items and dimensions of the attitude
towards gifted education scale at underdeveloped countries. This manner brings about that some items
and dimensions of the attitude towards gifted education scale at underdeveloped countries. In this study,
Attitude Scale towards Gifted Education (ASGE) which adapted form to me (Tortop, 2012a) has been
revised because of the reliability dimension. In this way, ASGE short form has been consisted of 14 items
and three dimensions. Reliability internal consistency coefficient of the scale (total) was found to be
α=0.801. And subdimensions reliability internal consistency coefficient of Need and Support Dimension
(.724), Resistance to Objections Dimension (.614), Ability Grouping Dimension (.749) was determined.
Therefore, the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of ASGE short form were more satisfactory
for research about gifted education –especially experimental studies- in Turkey. In further research, it can
be suggest that developing of newly attitude scale towards gifted education for Turkish teachers.

Üstün yetenekli eğitimi konusunda bir çok gelişmekte olan ülke yeni yeni farkındalık geliştirmeye
başlamıştır. Gelişmiş ülkelerdeki üstün yeteneklilerin eğitimine yönelik bir çok eğitimsel uygulamalar ve
birikim, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde bulunmamaktadır. Bu ise gelişmiş ülkelerde geliştirilmiş olan üstün
yetenekli eğitimine ilişkin tutum ölçeklerindeki bazı maddelerinin ve boyutların, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde
çalışmaması ve ortaya çıkmamasına yol açmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, uyarlaması tarafımdan (Tortop, 2012a)
yapılan Üstün Yetenekliler Eğitimine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği (ÜYETÖ)’nin güvenilirlik boyutundaki bazı
sorunlu yanlarının giderilmesine çalışılarak, orijinal ölçekte kısaltma yapılmıştır. Böylelikle ölçeğin üç
faktörden oluşan yapısı ve 14 maddelik kısa formu oluşturulmuştur. Ölçeğin tümünün Cronbach α katsayısı
0.801 olurken, ÜYÜDİB boyutu (.724), ÜYÖKOB boyutu (.614), ÖYSOB boyutu (.749) olarak belirlenmiştir
Ölçeğin kısa formunun Türkiye’de yapılacak üstün yeteneklilerin eğitimiyle ilgili çalışmalarda -bilhassa
deneysel çalışmalarda- sağlıklı sonuçlar vermesi açısından kullanımı uygundur.. İlerideki çalışmalarda,
Türkiye’ye özgü bir tutum ölçeğinin geliştirilmesi araştırmacılara önerilmektedir.
