In Turkish mythology there is a bird with such names tuğrul, karakuş, kartal partly similar to and partly different from the ones in the other nations. We aimed to explain the characteristics of this bird, its place in tales and how the vents concerned with this bird turned into folk narrations. In our research we tried to examine the Anatolian and Balkanian folk narrations and tried to compare with the other nations folk narrations when necessary.
