Çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının matematiksel düşünme düzeylerini ölçen
likert tipi bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Alan yazın incelendiğinde ölçek geliştirme çalışmalarının
dört aşamadan oluştuğu görülmektedir. Karasar’a (2002) göre bu aşamalar, madde havuzu
aşaması, kapsam geçerliliğinin sınanması aşaması (uzman görüşü aşaması), faktör analizi
aşaması (yapı geçerliliği) ve güvenirlik aşaması olarak belirlenmektedir. Çalışmada geliştirilen
“Matematiksel Düşünme Ölçeği”, öğrencilerin bilişsel boyutta öğrenmelerini ölçmek amacıyla
oluşturulmuştur. Matematiksel düşünme ölçeği üst düzey düşünme eğilimi, akıl yürütme,
matematiksel düşünme becerisi ve problem çözme alt boyutlarından oluşmaktadır. Elde edilen
bulguların sonucunda matematiksel düşünme ölçeği 20 olumlu, 5 olumsuz olmak üzere toplam
25 maddeyi kapsamaktadır. Sonuçta, Matematiksel Düşünme ölçeğinin geçerli ve güvenilir
olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

The aim of this study is to develop a likert type scale which measures the mathematical
thinking levels of teacher candidates. The studies of scale development are composed of 4
stages when the literature is examined. According to Karasar (2002), these stages of scale
development are determined as stage of item pool, stage of testing content validity (stage
of expert opinion), stage of factor analysis (structural validity) and stage of reliability.
Mathematical thinking scale developed in the course of the study was formed so as to measure
the students’ learning in the cognitive dimension. The sub-dimensions of mathematical thinking
scale are composed of high-level thinking tendency, reasoning, mathematical thinking skill, and problem solving. As the result of the obtained findings, mathematical thinking scale consists of
a total of 25 items, 20 positive and 5 negative. Finally, it was understood that the developed
scale is a valid and reliable.
