Bu araştırmanın amacı, 2006–2007 eğitim-öğretim yılında uygulamaya konan ilköğretim 6. sınıf matematik dersi öğretim programının öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşleri doğrultusunda değerlendirmesini yapmaktır. Bu amaçla nitel ve nicel ölçme araçları kullanılmış ve bu araçlardan elde edilen bulgular incelenmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında Manisa ili Demirci ilçesinde bulunan ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan 14 matematik öğretmeninin görüşleri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla ve 560 ilköğretim 6. sınıf öğrencisinin görüşü de Taylor ve Fraser’dan uyarlanan CLES (Constructivist Learning Environment Survey) ölçeği ile alınmıştır. Bulgulara göre, öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu yeni programın öğrenci merkezli olduğunu söylerken, öğrenciler de programın merkezinde olduklarına ilişkin memnuniyetlerini yeni programı ve öğretmenlerce uygulamasını ortalama 0.79 puanı ile değerlendirerek belirtmişlerdir.

The aim of this study is to assess the 6th grade new Turkish mathematics curriculum, which was executed in education calendar 2006-2007, according to the teachers and students perspectives. For this purpose, qualitative and quantitative research methods had been used in order to examine the findings. The questionnaire CLES (Constructivist Learning Environment Survey) by Taylor and Fraser had been adapted to 560 students of 6th grades and also 14 teachers were asked to give their views on the new curriculum in primary schools of Demirci in Manisa province of Turkey. The main view given by the teachers is that the new curriculum is student centered, and students in average say that they enjoy being in center. Finally, students state that the new curriculum is well, and well adapted by the teachers with the mean score of 0.79.
