1272 yılında Kırşehir’de doğan Âşık Paşa, XIII. ve XIV. yüzyıllarda Anadolu’da gelişen dînî ve tasavvufî edebiyatın öncüsü
olmuştur. Müellifin, 730 (1329-1330) yılında yazdığı ve 10. 613 beyitten oluşan Garib-nâme adlı mesnevîsi devrin inancının,
ilminin Âşık Paşa’nın deyimiyle kendi hayat tecrübesinin yansıması olmasıyla edebiyatımızda önem taşıyan edebî
ürünlerdendir. Eser 10 bâbdan ve her bâb içinde yer alan 10 kıssadan oluşur. Eserde, yazarın sayılara yüklediği anlamlar
dikkate değerdir. Mesnevî içerisinde yer alan “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 40, 70, 72, 100, 1000” sayıları tasavvuf ve inanç
çerçevesinde detaylı bir şekilde işlenmektedir.
Bu çalışmada Garib-nâme’de yer alan üç sayısı ve bu sayı üzerine atfedilen inanç unsurları mesnevîye bağlı kalınarak
incelenmeye çalışılacaktır. Mesnevîde anlatılan on kıssa tek tek incelenerek Âşık Paşa’nın üç sayısı etrafında oluşturduğu
inanç sistemi şairin mesnevîde yer alan beyitlerden örnekler verilerek açıklanacaktır. Üç sayısının yer aldığı kıssalarda geçen
diğer sayılara da yüzeysel bir şekilde temas edilecektir.
Çalışmanın sonunda ise ulaşılan temel sonuçlar her kıssa için oluşturulmuş birer tablo ile gösterilmeye çalışılacak, üç
sayısının diğer toplumlar ve onların inanç ve davranışlarındaki önemine değinilecektir.

Âşık Pasha, who was born in the city of Kırşehir in 1272, has been the pioner of religious and mystical literature that
developed in Anatolia in the 13th and14th centuries. Mathnnawi called Garib-nâme which was written by the author in 730
(1329-1330) and consisted of 10. 613 couplets, is one of the important literary works in our literature of being the reflection
of Âşık Pasha’s life experience in his own words. The work consists of 10 chapters and 10 stories in each chapter. In the work,
the meanings attributed by the author to the numbers are remarkable. The numbers “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 40, 70, 72,
100, 1000” in mathnawi are studied in detail within the framework of sufism and belief.
In this study, it will be tried to examine the number of “three” in Garib-nâme and the belief elements attributed to this
number by adhering to the mathnawi. The ten stories described in the mathnawi will be examined one by one and the belief
system that Âşık Pasha has formed around the number of “three” will be explained by giving examples from the couplets in
the mathnawi. Other numbers that take part in the stories that include the number of “three” will also be touched
superficially.
All the end of the study, the main results achieved will be shown with a table created for each story, the importance of
number of “three” in order societies and their beliefs and behaviour will be discussed.
