Sabahattin Ali’nin romanı olan Kuyucaklı Yusuf, romanın baş kişisi Yusuf’un öyküsüdür. Eserin muhtevasında
egemen güçlere isyan ön plandadır. Eserde Jean Jacques Rousseau'nun isyan ve doğaya dönüş anlayışından
kaynaklanan başkaldırı teması ele alınır. Bu eser, Türk edebiyatında Anadolu'daki toplumsal düzene getirdiği
eleştiri bakımından öncü romanlardandır. Bu roman bir kasaba romanıdır. Nazilli ve Edremit, olayların genel
olarak geçtiği mekanlardır.
Kuyucaklı Yusuf romanı, bugüne kadar yapılan araştırmalarda Sabahattin Ali’nin toplumsal gerçekçi yanını
yansıtmasının yanında psiko-sosyolojik boyutta derinlemesine incelenen Türk edebiyatındaki trajik romanlardan
biridir. Ancak bu araştırmalarda romanın mekân poetiği yer almamaktadır. Romanın isminden de anlaşılacağı
üzere Yusuf’un Kuyucaklı olması ve roman isminin de mekân-kişi topolojisini yansıtması, aslında bireyin
kimlikleşme ve kendileşme sürecinde mekâna aidiyetin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Bu yüzden romanda mekânın
poetiğine geçmeden önce “mekân” kavramının, psiko-sosyolojik, ontolojik ve poetik boyutlarıyla irdelenmesi
yerinde olacaktır. Romanda yer alan mekanlar, romanın tematik yapısı ve kişilerin davranışları ve psikolojik
yapılarıyla ilişkili olarak işlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada amaç, Kuyucaklı Yusuf adlı romanı mekan insan ruhu açısından
incelemektir.

Sabahattin Ali's novel Kuyucaklı Yusuf is the story of Yusuf, the leader of the novel. In the content of the work,
the rebellion is in the foreground. In this work, JeanJacques Rousseau's revolt and revival of nature is discussed.
This work is one of the leading novels in Turkish literature in terms of criticizing the social order in Anatolia. This
novel is a town novel. Nazilli and Edremit are the places where the events generally pass.
Kuyucaklı Yusuf novel is one of the tragic novels in Turkish literature which is examined in psycho-sociological
dimension as well as reflecting the social realistic side of Sabahattin Ali. However, the space poetry of the novel
remains incomplete in these studies. As the name suggests, the fact that Yusuf is Kuyucak and that the novel
name reflects the space-person topology emphasizes the importance of belonging to the space in the process of
identity and self-formation of the individual. Therefore, before moving on to the poetry of the space in the
novel, it is appropriate to examine the concept of olojik space o with its psycho-sociological, ontological and
poetic dimensions. The spaces in the novel are related to the thematic structure of the novel and the behavior
and psychological structures of individuals. The aim of this study is to examine the novel Kuyucaklı Yusuf in
terms of human spirit.
