Mazmun sözcüğü, günümüzde edebî bir terim olarak kullanılmaktadır. Ancak bu terim, araştırmacıların üzerinde uzlaşı
sağladıkları bir kavram değildir. Eski şairler sözcüğe özel bir anlam yüklememişler, onu genellikle “mana, mefhum”
karşılığında kullanmışlardır. Bununla birlikte sözcük, beyitte açıkça görünmeyen, remizli anlam şeklinde de izah edilmiştir.
Akademik çalışmaların bazılarında ise, klâsik Türk şiirinin kalıplaşmış istiareleri, yani klişeleri, mazmun olarak nitelenmiştir.
Günümüzde mazmun, beyitteki sözcüklerin oluşturduğu çağrışımların işaret ettiği kavram ya da nesne anlamında, bir edebî
terim olarak kullanılmaktadır.
Mazmun konusunda yapılan çalışmalarda verilen örnek sayısının kısıtlı olması, ona eski şairlerin rağbet göstermedikleri
izlenimini uyandırmaktadır. Hâlbuki mazmun örnekleri, klâsik şiir geleneğine vâkıf okur ve araştırmacıların okumaları ile
zenginleşebilir. Bu çalışmada mazmun literatürüne, Emrî Divanı’ndaki tanıklarla katkı sağlanacaktır. Örnek beyitlerdeki
mazmunlar izah edilecek, bu esnada karşılaştırmalı bir yöntem izlenecektir. Ayrıca mazmunun terimleşme süreci kronolojik
olarak verilecek, konu hakkındaki tartışmalara değinilecektir. Yapılacak yeni mazmun çalışmalarının yöntemine dair tespitler
sayesinde, araştırmacıların bu konuya değinmelerinin sağlanması; mazmun kavramının daha somut bir düzleme
yerleştirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır.

The word mazmun is used today in the sense of a literary term. This term, however, is not a concept that researchers have
agreed upon. Old poets do not have a special meaning to the word they usually used it for "meaning". However, the word is
also explained in the form of a indirect meaning, which is not clearly visible. In some of the academic works, the
stereotypical metaphors of classical Turkish poetry, namely, their stereotypes, have been described as mazmun. Today,
mazmun is used as a literary term in the sense of a concept or object pointed out by the associations formed by the words on
the forehead.
The fact that the number of samples given in studies on mazmun is limited suggests the impression that old poets didn’t use
it frequently. However, the examples of the mazmun read the tradition of classical poetry and can be enriched by the
readings of the researchers. This study will contribute to the literary work of Mazmun with witnesses in Emrî’s Divan.
Mazmuns in the sample couplets will be explained and while making this a comparative method will be followed. In
addition, the termination process of mazmun will be given in chronological order, and the discussion about the issue will be
mentioned. With the detection of the methodology of the new mazmun studies to be done, it will be easier for the
researchers to tend to this topic, and also a more concrete settlement of the concept of mazmun will be provided.
