İletişim teknolojisindeki hızlı değişiklikler son yıllarda belli bilgiler elde
etmek veya salt merak amacıyla yerel yönetimlerin web sitelerine yönelik ilgiyi artırmıştır.
Bu nedenle, bu yönetimlerin sayfalarında doğru, düzenli ve bilimsel bilgilerin
yer alması önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Tokat’taki mülki ve yerel yönetim birimleri
örnek alınarak, söz konusu sitelerde coğrafi kavram ve bilgilerin doğru biçimde kullanılıp
kullanılmadığı araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, on dört kurumun web sitesi
incelenmiş, bulunan coğrafi bilgi yanlışlarının neden ve kaynaklarına işaret edilerek,
bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In recent years, rapid changes in communication technology have created an
increasing interest in the official web sites of local administrations, with the aim of
getting specific information or the sense of pure wonder. It is therefore necessary for
these administrations to have well organized, correct and scientific knowledge on
their websites. Taking the local administrative districts of Tokat, including provinces
and municipalities, as a case study, this study investigates whether or not geographical
concepts and information are properly used on these web sites. For this purpose,
the web sites of fourteen institutions have been investigated. We point out the
sources of information mistakes we found on these web sites, and offer some suggestions.
