Dedem Korkut Kitabı’nda tespit ettiğimiz bir dizeyi oluşturan sözcükler, kimi araştırmacılar tarafından metinde yazıldığı gibi
çevriyazıya aktarılmamıştır. Bu durum da söz konusu dize ile ilgili birbirlerinden farklı okumaların ortaya çıkmasına neden
olmuştur. Bir sözcüğün metinde yazıldığı gibi çevriyazıya geçirilmemesinin temel nedeni, söz konusu sözcüğün metinde doğru
yazılmadığı yaklaşımıdır. Üzerinde durduğumuz örnekte de kimi yapıların metinde yanlış yazıldığı düşüncesiyle düzeltilerek
çevriyazıya aktarıldığı görülür. Bu incelemede söz konusu dizedeki bütün sözcüklerin yazıldığı gibi çevriyazıya aktarılması
gerektiği savunulmaktadır. Bu bağlamda belli bir işaretin herhangi bir görev üstlenmeden kullanılamayacağı düşüncesiyle
mercek altına aldığımız ögeler üzerindeki ötre, esre, üstün ve med (uzunluk) gibi bütün işaretler okuma sürecinde dikkate
alındı. Dedem Korkut Kitabı üzerine yapılan çalışmalar incelendiğinde üzerinde duracağımız dize ile ilgili ikinci bir sorun daha
dikkat çekiyor. Dizede iki ayrı sözcükten oluşan bir kalıp ifade, araştırmacılar tarafından tek bir sözcük olarak ele alınmıştır.
Araştırmacılar iki farklı ögeden oluşan bu kalıp ifadenin tek sözcük olduğu konusunda hemfikirler. Ancak tek bir sözcük olarak
ele aldıkları bu kalıp ifadeyi birbirinden farklı üç biçimde okumuşlardır: zīregüm /diregüm /viregüm. Oysa burada
araştırmacıların sandığı gibi tek bir sözcük değil de iki sözcükten oluşan VYRH KM kalıp ifadesi söz konusudur.

Some words constituting a line in the Book of Dedem Korkut have not been transcribed as they were written in the text, by
some researchers. And this case caused various readings about the line. The main reason why a word isn’t trasncribed as it
was in the text is the considiration that the word was not already written correctly in the text. The sample we have focused
on, it seems that some structures were transcribed by editing, with the thought that they were mistyped in the text. In this
study it is defended that all the words in the line should be transcribed as it was written. In this context, all signs (marks) on
the items that we scrutinized have been included in reading process, with the thought that a sign can not be put without
serving a function in the text. When analyzed the studyings upon the Book of Dedem Korkut, another problem stands out
about the line we will dwell on: A phrase comprised of two separate words in the line has been considered as one word by
some researchers. The researchers are of the same opinion about the phrase comprised of two separate words is actually
just one word. But they have read the phrase they have regarded as one word, in three ways: “zīregüm”, “diregüm”,
“viregüm”. In fact, there is not just one word as the researhers think, but there is written the phrase “VYRH KM” consisting of
two words.
