Bu araştırma, 2010-2015 yılları arasında Türkiye’de Social Science Citation Index (SSCI)’de taranan dergilerde çevre eğitimine yönelik yayımlanan makaleler ile Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı Tez Merkezi veri tabanından erişilebilen, bu konuda yazılmış tezlerin eğilimlerinin belirlenmesi amacı ile yapılmış betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma örneklemi amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiş olup, 2010-2015 yılları arasındaki SSCI’de taranan dergilerdeki makalelerden ve Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı Tez Merkezi veri tabanında taranan tezleri kapsamaktadır. Çalışmalar farklı araştırmacılar tarafından birbirinden bağımsız olarak, belirlenen kategoriler çerçevesinde incelenmiş, içerik analizi tekniklerinden kategorisel analiz ile frekans analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan kodlamalar arasındaki Pearson korelasyon katsayısı 0.92 olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, çevre eğitimi alanında yapılan çalışmaların ortaokul örneklem grubunda yoğunlaştığı ve ağırlıklı olarak çevre eğitiminin duyuşsal boyutuna (%31) yönelik olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda Türkiye’de çevre eğitimine yönelik yapılmış çalışmalara dair genel bir bakış açısı ortaya konmuş, bu doğrultuda çevre eğitimi alanında yapılacak çalışmalara ışık tutacak öneriler sunulmuştur.

This study is a descriptive study that was carried out to determine the trends of the articles on environmental education, published in three major science education journals that are covered in Social Science Citation Index in Turkey between the years of 2010 and 2015, and of theses and dissertations written on the same topic that can be accessed through the database of the Council of Higher Education- National Thesis Center within the same years in Turkey. The research sample, determined by purposive sampling method, includes 13 articles published in Education and Science Journal, Hacettepe University Journal of Education, and Educational Sciences: Theory & Practice as well as 154 theses or dissertations accessed in the database of the Council of Higher Education-National Thesis Center from 2010 to 2015. The environmental education studies were examined by different researchers independently of one another according to the framework of the categories that were determined, and were analyzed using the frequency and categorical analysis of the content analysis techniques. Pearson's correlation coefficient between the encodings was found to be 0.92. According to the results of the study, environmental education studies focus upon secondary school students as the sample group, and the research studies carried out in the field of environmental education during the years 2010–2015 are mostly related to the affective domain (31.8%) of environmental education. As a result of the study, a general vision for the environmental education studies carried out in Turkey is put forward, and recommendations that can guide the further studies are provided.
