Makale Özeti: Classical Turkish Literature is known to have works that have been written on two different Suleiman, one that refers to the king Solomon, the other to the Ottoman ruler Suleiman. Literary works on the two personalities are named Süleymân-nâme. Those which tell about Suleiman the Magnificent describe either the period from his rising to the throne to his death or a certain event during his time. A case in point is Hâki’s Süleymân-nâme a work in the form of Mesnewi which describes the Ruler’s war over Iran between 1553-1555 and on the treaty of Amasya thereafter. This kind of work is used to report a lot of information on politcs, economics, military etc. Hâkî, the poet, reviews a time period from the Sultân’s reign as a keen observer. The prose is particularly important as a documentary related to the 16th century in terms of wars at its time.
