The article deals with the concepts and instruments of realization of currency risk insurance. The analysis of the performance of the foreign exchange market of Poland and Ukraine and the use of derivative financial instruments to reduce currency risks are analyzed. The main reasons for the low use of currency derivatives in Ukraine are outlined and recommendations are given inrelation to further development of these
financial instruments at the home currency market..

В статье рассмотрены понятия и инструменты осуществления страхования валютных рисков. Проанализированы показатели деятельности валютного рынка Польши и Украины и объемы использования производных финансовых инструментов для снижения валютных рисков. Определены основные причины низкого использования валютных деривативов в Украине и даны рекомендации по дальнейшему развитию данных финансовых инструментов на отечественном валютном рынке.
