The lover's love towards the beloved creates the basic structure of Diwan literature. In this regard, there is a common
classical understanding of love: beloved shows coquetry and lover pampers her. However, lover's reluctance and refusal to
beloved can be subject of some poets' works. This matter, which is contrary to accustomed way and is known as Vâsûht
School in Iran literature, is used as the main theme in this style of poetry. Vâsûht in persian language means refusal. In this
study, the emergence of the above mentioned school, its famous representatives and main features will be generally
investigated and its refelections and use in Turkish literature will be examined.
