Mutlu Okul

This study aimed to seek students’ definitions of the concept of “happy school”, which
is believed to be a happy place for children. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The
study is completed in two secondary schools (Anatolian high schools) in Kahramanmaraş with
total of 47 students. The study data were obtained from semi-structured interviews. The study
is designed within phenomenology and typical situation sampling is chosen from sampling
techniques. Content analysis of qualitative research methods were used to analyze the data. At
the end of the study, the definition of happy school and duties of school principal, teachers and
students are determined. Certain findings are that teachers and principals should be closer and
guide students, be prominent on their areas and students should obey the rules.

Bu çalışma, çocukların eğitildiği mekanlar olarak okulların, mutlu bir yer olması gerektiği düşünülerek, “mutlu okul” kavramını ele almış ve öğrencilere göre “mutlu okul”u tanımlamayı amaçlamıştır. Araştırma, Kahramanmaraş merkezindeki iki ortaöğretim (Anadolu lisesi) okulunda toplam 47 öğrenciyle görüşülerek gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniğiyle elde edilmiştir. “Geldiğinizde sizleri mutlu edecek bir okul hayal ediniz ve bu okulu betimleyiniz, okulunuzun daha mutlu olması için okul müdürüne düşen görevler nelerdir, okulunuzun daha mutlu olması için öğretmenlerimize düşen görevler sizlere göre nelerdir, okulunuzun daha mutlu ve huzurlu olması için öğrencilerimize (sizlere) düşen görevler nelerdir” soruları sorulmuş ve bu sorulara ilişkin analiz işlemleri yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda, mutlu okul tanımı yapılmış, mutlu okulda müdür, öğretmen ve öğrenciye düşen görevler belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.
